Lemonade Stand | Summer Style Session

One night after not being able to sleep while scrolling through the endless world of Pinterest, I stumbled onto a series of things.

First: A whole slew of photographers who were doing extremely detailed style sessions for children. It reminded me of the detail work I would have to plan into my fashion photography class, which happened to be my favorite class. I always dreamed of being a big fashion photographer and somehow I ended up back in Mercer County. Not really being able to pursue fashion here I started exploring all areas of photography and finding my most comfort in photographing children. This pinterest find seemed to bring both worlds that I love together.

Second I realized that the WHOLE WORLD is obsessed with DIY and vintagey looking things. I mean it’s all over pinterest no matter if you’re in that catagory or not. It has seemed to create a monster of people who are obsessed with using glue guns and making something awesome to hang on your front door out of the leftover things in the back of the junk drawer.

Third: Fall stuff was starting to creep up on us. I wasn’t quite ready for all that yet and decided to get the most out of summer.

So that is how the idea of Lemonade Stand Style Sessions was born. I somehow convinced my father to build me a lemonade stand, it took a little bit of begging. He couldn’t understand why a 23 year old needed a lemonade stand. I promoted it on the Facebook page & pulled the rest of the details together.

Three very cute blond children started the sessions…

They were followed by two beautiful little girls…

The image below cracks me up. She would barely look at the camera because she was convinced they were there to make lemonade. She wanted the lemons cut and everything. I believe this moment went something like No Grandma you squeeze the lemons….

Lily cracks me up in the photo above, its one of those “seriously Mom, I can’t believe you are making me do this” things…

After those cuties we had a pretty adorable One year old come. Gideon has the BEST blue eyes…

Life was pretty hard being covered in wet sand while Mom & Dad tried to get him back into dry clothes. Haha!

After them was two pretty special people. Katherine, who I work with at Calico Cafe, is a self declared sister of mine. We’re like a family there. She brought her two year old, Leah, to finish the day up.

Thank you to everyone who came, who helped me, and to those who listen to my crazy ideas & help me refine them to make it work! With fall quickly approaching I have been considering doing a fall one in late September/Early October for the Holidays. I would love to hear if we have any interest in it so I can get to planning it!
