The first time I ever heard of Kaitlyn was on facebook. I graduated from high school quite a few years ahead of her so I didn’t know who she was, which is pretty rare for our small town. It was late one night and someone shared a video she posted. I remember watching it and it started with a gorgeous girl playing the guitar. As she played and began singing I can remember thinking that she is going to go somewhere with her talent. As time went on people would keep sharing her videos of herself singing and they kept somehow making their way into my newsfeed. By the time Kaitlyn messaged me about doing senior photos I knew exactly who she was.
We talked about outfits and her bringing her guitar to her senior session, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. We met one a warm night at the end of summer. It was a perfect night where the sun seemed to be just the right shade of orange-pink that I love to have for my photos. She reminded me of someone straight out of the seventies. Kaitlyn’s dress with the faded colors went just right with the sky…
Forgive me, I pulled a lot of matted black and whites out for this session. She has the right amount of fierceness to rock them.
After a quick outfit change we headed back around to more of an urban looking area. Kaityln again shined with crop top and patterned maxi skirt.
We quickly changed gears to make sure we caught the sun going down, the way the sun lit up the field we were in couldn’t have been any more perfect. It gave us the right warmth to compliment her hair and eyes.
We finished up with Kaitlyn showing off her awesome soccer moves 🙂 Not only is she a talented singer, she is one of the kindest girls I have met. Her warm personality will carry her far in this life and I am honored that I was the one who documented you at this stage of it.
